EBOVAC1

Phase 1 trials were carried out in 2015/ 2016 by the EBOVAC1 project. These trials gathered preliminary information on the safety and tolerability of the vaccine regimen. The immune response generated by the regimen will also be evaluated longer term.

The EBOVAC2, EBOVAC-Salone, and PREVAC Sierra Leone trials are being carried out to speed up the clinical development of the vaccine regimen. In these trials, larger groups of people are receiving the vaccine regimen, allowing the projects to gather further information on the regimen’s safety and immunogenicity, including in specific groups such as children and the elderly.

These projects have received funding from the Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 Joint Undertaking under grant agreement EBOVAC1 (grant nr. 115854), EBOVAC2 (grant nr. 115861), EBOVAC3 (grant nr. 800176), EBOMAN (grant nr. 115850) and EBODAC (grant nr. 115847). This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
